Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant to support our providers in delivering exceptional patient this role youll work directly with patients assist with clinical procedures support care coordination and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.
What Youll Do:
- Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
- Collect and document patient histories vital signs and health information.
- Assist providers with exams procedures testing and specimen collection.
- Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
- Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
- Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
- Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
General Requirements:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved:
- MA program and MA Externship;
- MA Internship;
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program;
- Paramedic program; or
- Certified Athletic Trainer.
If credentialed maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.
CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE:
MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification.
MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
- American Medical Technologists (RMA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
- National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
- National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
- American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 0-1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship must have 2 years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
