Job Summary
North Atlanta Dermatology is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support our Suwanee GA clinic. In this role youll support our provider with patient intake procedures and education while helping ensure every patient receives compassionate efficient care. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1 hour lunch)
This position is primarily based in Suwanee; however travel will be required to Duluth on Tuesdays and every other Wednesday.

Responsibilities
- Room patients and accurately document patient intake information.
- Obtain and record vital signs.
- Manage and support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Prepare procedure trays instruments and equipment according to provider instructions.
- Assist providers with in-office dermatology procedures.
- Prepare pathology and laboratory specimens and route them to the appropriate lab based on patient insurance requirements.
- Respond to patient questions in person and by phone following provider and clinic guidelines.
- Review and address clinical task lists and nurse line messages in a timely manner.
- Clean sterilize calibrate and maintain clinical equipment and instruments according to established schedules ensuring proper documentation of maintenance.
- Monitor medication and supply levels remove expired items and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure exam rooms supply rooms and cabinets are fully stocked.
- Order receive organize restock and inventory medical and office supplies.
- Accurately document patient information and scribe provider notes within the EMR system.
- Assist with the administration of local anesthetics as directed.
- Ensure phone messages faxes and interdepartmental communications are handled promptly and appropriately.
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience obtaining vital signs and preparing patients for appointments.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Basic computer proficiency including experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with providers staff patients and visitors.
- Strong multitasking organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to appropriately triage patient concerns and escalate to providers as needed.
- Willingness and ability to travel to satellite locations as needed.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA OSHA infection control and patient confidentiality standards.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED (required).
One of the following is preferred:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program externship (CMA/RMA eligible or certified).
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant.
- Bachelors degree in a pre-med pre-PA biological sciences or related healthcare field along with prior clinical experience.
- Prior experience in dermatology is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform moderate amounts of talking bending twisting reaching and balancing.
Frequent use of hands and fingers for clinical and administrative tasks.
Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
Ability to handle materials such as paper medical supplies and equipment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Potential exposure to infectious organisms chemicals and sharp instruments.
