Job Summary
Job Title: Medical Assistant Contract
Location: New York NY
Schedule: MondayFriday 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Hours: 37.5 per week
Navitas Healthcare LLC isseeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical teams in a hospital setting. Role includes direct patient care clinical procedures and administrative/EMR support in a fast-paced environment.
Perform patient care tasks such as venipuncture EKGs vital signs and specimen collection
Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
Prepare exam rooms and ensure proper sterilization and infection control
Manage patient flow scheduling and rooming of patients
Enter orders refill requests and documentation in EMR system
Maintain patient medical records reports and charts
Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing when required
Handle appointment scheduling registration and insurance updates
Verify pre-authorizations and insurance details as needed
Maintain medical supply inventory and restocking
Ensure compliance with HIPAA safety and hospital protocols
Perform additional duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of Medical Assistant certification program required
BLS certification (AHA required)
Certified Medical Assistant preferred
Strong communication and patient interaction skills
Knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
Hospital outpatient/clinical setting
Patient-facing role with administrative and clinical duties
Requires adaptability attention to detail and strong teamwork
