- Verifying patient information and insurance details.
- Assisting with scheduling patients for visits.
- Gathering patient medical history and current symptoms.
- Communication of order requests between Home Health teams and their attending provider.
- Preparing patients for examinations by the physician.
- Handling phone calls and inquiries.
- Coordinating care between members of the health care team.
- Maintaining confidential files and patient medical records.
- Preparing and updating patient charts.
- Processing insurance forms and billing.
- Processing and sending referrals.
- Tracking and following up on orders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare providers remotely.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a primary care or ambulatory clinic setting is required.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is preferred.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology anatomy and disease processes.
- Ability to manage administrative tasks such as schedules maintain accurate records prepare charts for visits and assist with insurance billing.
- Ability to communicate effectively to patients family members medical professionals and staff.
- Ability to quickly respond to emergencies such as the identification of potential emergent vital signs or conditions.
