Job Summary

Job Title: Medical Administrative Clerk

Location: Glendale AZ

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Compensation: $18.00/Hour (W2)

Position Overview

We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Medical Administrative Clerk to support patient registration and medical records management within a healthcare setting. This position serves as one of the first points of contact for patients and plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and compliance with healthcare privacy regulations.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems handling patient information collecting payments and maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities
  • Register patients accurately within the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Collect and process patient payments.
  • Create maintain and update electronic medical records.
  • Gather and verify patient demographic and medical information.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients and visitors.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Assist with administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
  • Maintain organized patient records and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Support daily office operations and patient intake processes.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience registering patients using an electronic medical records system in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare privacy standards.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Note: Equivalent combinations of post-secondary education and relevant work experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Experience collecting patient information and creating medical records.
  • Cash handling or cashiering experience.
  • Certification as a Public Health Worker or Community Health Worker from an accredited institution or current enrollment in a qualifying program with the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.
