IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern in St. Louis Missouri. Over 10-12 weeks youll assist in the analysis design and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry while gaining hands-on experience alongside experienced engineers and this role youll support project documentation coordination and job site observations while helping teams work within project budgets and meet client expectations. Youll collaborate across disciplines on healthcare-focused MEP work while advancing high-performance energy-efficient design.

What Youll Do

• Assist with mechanical system design according to code and company standards

• Research commercially available equipment and supporting resources

• Support client relations project design notebooks and permanent record documentation

• Coordinate design activities and schedules with architectural structural electrical mechanical technology clerical and equipment supplier teams

• Document design decisions meetings and client instructions while monitoring project progress

• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check

• Help prepare and issue addendum information

• Conduct periodic job site observations and support other services required by the contract services agreement

What Youll Bring

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required

• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

• Strong interest in design consulting

• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook

• Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software

• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
