Mechanical Engineering Intern

Mechanical Engineering Intern at Cushing Terrell. This is an in-person internship supporting our Mechanical Engineering team on real client projects.

What does this role involve day to day You will gain hands-on experience performing engineering calculations and designing mechanical systems including building heating and cooling load calculations.

What will I create You will help model mechanical and plumbing systems in Revit and AutoCAD schedule mechanical equipment and compile project specifications.

What does success look like in this internship You will review building codes and standards including IMC UPC and ASHRAE participate in site visits before and during construction and leave with a clear picture of what it means to work in the AEC industry.

The expected wage range for this position is $21.00 to $26.00 per hour.

• Completion of 3 years of a mechanical engineering or related undergraduate program
• Basic knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite Microsoft Office Suite Outlook and Bluebeam
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt
• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Exposure to heating and cooling load calculations
• Interest in mechanical or plumbing system design
• Familiarity with IMC UPC ASHRAE or local building codes

*Actual pay will be determined based on the candidates years of experience licensure status location level of proficiency and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
