Job Description

The MechanicalEngineer will work on the design of new and existinghigh-altitudeballoonsstratocraftlaunch equipmentand other subsystems.

Role Responsibilities

• Work cross functionally with Engineering and Design teams to develop new and existing products

• Reviews design specifications and project requirements

• Evaluates performance issues through troubleshooting and failure investigation

• Creates detailed design schematicsthrough the use ofdesign software

• Field testing flight hardware withassistancefrom the operations team

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering

• 4 years of Mechanical Design Experience

• Solid understanding ofstructural design and analysis using hand calcs and SolidWorks Simulation

• Use of Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly (DFM/DFA)

• Strong understanding of GD&T

• Working knowledge of ASME standards

• Proficient in the use of Mechanical Design programs such as SolidWorks

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Points

• Experience working with Aerospace materials

• Experience with high altitude balloon design

• MS in Mechanical Engineering
