Mechanical Engineer Co-Op

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will support the Senior Mechanical Engineer with capital projects equipment improvements and plant maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment. The intern will gain hands-on experience in project management mechanical design equipment reliability safety compliance and plant operations while working closely with Maintenance Reliability Engineering Operations EHS contractors and equipment vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Support equipment troubleshooting reliability improvements and root cause investigations.
• Assist with maintaining maintenance documentation as-built drawings manuals and LOTO procedures.
• Perform field inspections data collection and engineering analysis.
• Collaborate with Operations Maintenance and EHS teams to promote safe and efficient plant operations.
• Assist with capital project planning execution and documentation.
• Support development of equipment specifications engineering drawings and project scopes.
• Assist with AutoCAD drawings design reviews and equipment layouts.
• Participate in commissioning startup and contractor coordination activities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong interest in manufacturing industrial equipment and project engineering.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and CAD software (AutoCAD preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in both office and industrial plant environments.
