Growing manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Mechanical Designer to turn customer needs concepts and production feedback into practical manufacturable products.
(Direct Hire)
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models assemblies drawings BOMs and production documentation.
- Turn concepts sketches and customer requirements into finished designs.
- Develop design options while balancing strength cost weight appearance and manufacturability.
- Work directly with production to solve problems reduce rework and improve products and processes.
- Support new product development and custom projects.
- Work with vendors and suppliers on components fabrication and design changes.
- Follow projects through production and improve designs based on real-world feedback.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve quality and ease of manufacturing.
- Strong SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD experience.
- Understanding of mechanical design fabricated metal welding materials and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to understand forces load paths material selection and practical design considerations.
- Ability to balance performance cost weight and manufacturability.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-directed practical and comfortable working directly with production.
- Able to take ownership of projects and move them forward without constant direction.
Experience with manufactured equipment machinery vehicles agricultural products fabricated products or similar mechanical systems is a plus.
A two-year technical degree in mechanical design engineering technology manufacturing CAD or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
This is a hands-on role with significant ownership and visibility. You will work across design manufacturing suppliers and leadership and see your work become real products.
