Mechanical Design Project Leader

Fameccanica North America is launching a new Robotics & Automation Engineering Hub just north of Boston and were looking for a Mechanical Design Project Leader to help build it.

This is a rare chance to join a small high-impact team at the ground level. Youll help shape project execution system design and team operationswhile benefiting from the support of a global organization with proven technology established customers and existing production infrastructure.

What Youll Do

• Lead mechanical design for robotics and automation projects
• Coordinate engineering work across mechanical electrical and software teams
• Manage projects from concept and design through build testing and delivery
• Support assembly and testing by troubleshooting design issues in real time
• Help develop project plans schedules and technical proposals
• Mentor junior engineers and support team growth
• Join client discussions design reviews and key project milestones

What You Bring

• 5-10 years of mechanical design experience in automation robotics or machinery
• Experience leading or coordinating technical projects
• Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks Solid Edge or similar)
• Ability to balance hands-on design work with project leadership
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communication across teams functions and at times with clients

• Travel: Approximately 15%-30%
