Primary Objective

The Mechanical Design Engineer position is a member of the Electrical Hardware Development team at MTS Systems. The team is responsible for developing and supporting a wide range of electrical products focused on high performance motion control and precision data acquisition.

Major Areas of Accountability

• System cable and controller chassis design build and test
• Interface with vendors and CM partners for prototyping
• Generate documentation (Assembly drawings BOMs etc.) required for manufacturing and assembly

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering industrial engineering or related field
• 2 years of experience using SolidWorks for mechanical design and 3D modeling
• Hands-on experience with building mechanical prototypes
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD or Altium
• Experience with reading schematics and datasheets
• Experience with Test Method Validation Design of Experiment (DoE)

Compensation Information:

$86000 - $125000 Annual Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
