Job Summary

PacArctic LLC (PAC) a Koniag Government Services company is seeking an experienced Mechanic Trades Helper to support PacArctic and our government is a Union position and all benefits will be covered by the Mechanic Trades Helper will provide direct assistance to skilled maintenance technicians in various disciplines including electrical plumbing carpentry HVAC and general facilities responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Assist journey-level technicians with repair installation and maintenance tasks across multiple tradesPrepare work areas by gathering materials tools and equipmentMaintain inventory of parts and supplies reporting shortages as neededClean and maintain tools equipment and work areasPerform basic preventative maintenance tasks under supervisionFollow all safety protocols and procedures while working in various environmentsTransport materials tools and equipment between job sitesAssist with routine inspections of building systems and componentsPerform basic troubleshooting and repairs under guidanceComplete and maintain accurate work order documentationRespond to emergency maintenance situations as requiredLearn progressively more complex tasks and skills through on-the-job trainingRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDPrevious experience in maintenance construction or related field preferred but not requiredValid drivers license with clean driving recordRequired Skills and Competencies:Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of hand and power toolsAbility to follow verbal and written instructions accuratelyPhysical capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyWillingness to work in various environments (indoor/outdoor heights confined spaces)Reliable transportation to report to various work sites as neededBasic math skills for taking measurements and calculating materialsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCommitment to workplace safety practices and proceduresReliable attendance and punctualityWillingness to work flexible hours including occasional evenings weekends or on-call shiftsBasic computer literacy for work order systems and documentationDesired Skills and Competencies:Previous experience in one or more trade areas (electrical plumbing HVAC etc.)Vocational training in facilities maintenance or construction tradesKnowledge of building codes and standardsExperience with preventive maintenance programsExperience with building automation systemsBasic blueprint reading abilityExperience with maintenance management softwareOur Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
