HII is seeking an experienced Technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to provide diagnostics troubleshooting technical oversight repair recommendations and maintenance support for CNSL shipboard Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Shipboard Mobile Support Equipment (SMSE).
As a Technical SME you will provide mission-critical service life extension maintenance and repair support to include diagnostics repair recommendations utilizing OEM manuals maintenance installation of new parts and components and conducting the testing to ensure all specifications are met. SME expertise ensures equipment safety reliability EMI compliance proper configuration and availability to support U.S. Navy operational readiness.
- High School education or Trade School or equivalent and 8 years of related experience to include specific systems expertise. Prefer technical/professional certifications. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
- Strong mechanical background to include knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systes
- Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals wiring diagrams schematics and NAVSUP P-538 requirements.
- Ability to Obtain MHE operator license in accordance with NAVSUP P 538.
- Ability to perform corrective actions replace faulty components and return systems to service with minimal downtime
- Familiar with OSHA shipyard and industrial environments.
- Experience supporting CNSL shipboard forklifts pallet trucks aerial work platforms FDS units and rough terrain forklifts.
- Experience maintaining UL ratings EMI suppression requirements and explosive-handling compliance.
- Knowledge of NAVSEA NAVSUP NAVOSH and OSHA regulations related to MHE/SMSE.
- Experience with configuration management (CDM) DPAS MRC/MIP documentation and Navy maintenance systems.
- Familiar with OSHA-10/30 shipyard and Navy safety practices (LOTO confined space fall protection PPE).
