Mechanic

Merrell Bros. Inc. is seeking applicants for a Full-time Mechanic/Technician. Ideal candidates for this Mechanic/Technician opening will have experience as a Diesel Mechanic working on heavy Class 8 (Tractor Trailers) knowledge of PM requirements a CDL License is a plus!

This position specializes in operation and maintenance of a semi transport tractor and trailer. Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshoots problems on vehicles. Teamwork to efficiently manage priorities based on operational needs. This position involves some heavy lifting as well as intermittent standing sitting pushing and pulling. Responsibilities

• Perform minor and medium level repairs on trucks and trailers
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance on semi-trucks/trailers including inspection and oil changes
• Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs in a timely manner
• Perform regular diagnostic tests on vehicles
• Report defects accidents or violations

• 2 years of diesel technician experience
• PM expertise/welding/pto/emission a major plus
• Computer diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of shop equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Deadline and detail oriented
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• Valid Drivers license and clean driving record (MVR)
