Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures.
- Wear proper PPE as required.
- Clean and maintain production equipment and machinery.
- Ensure equipment has been properly and adequately lubricated.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment and machinery.
- Use of hand tools cutting torch and perform stick welding.
- Operate mobile equipment such as forklift skid steer mobile shear and material handler.
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience in an industrial/outdoor work environment.
- Mechanical knowledge and skillset
- Basic welding experience
- Minimum (1 year) working around manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely at all times and with a safe sense of urgency.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment in varying work conditions.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Schedule is: Mon-Fri 6:00am-4:30pm and Sat 6am-12pm with the potential for overtime hours based on business needs.
- Bi-lingual- English and Spanish
