Meaningful Day CDS in Annapolis, MD

Job Summary:
Join our Bay-CSS team in Annapolis MD as a DSP in Meaningful Day - CDS (Community Day Services) where you will be responsible for creating and overseeing engaging activities for individuals with disabilities promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life. This position offers a competitive pay of $21/hr and operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8am to 4pm.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree in a related field preferred
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities especially in a day services environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with participants
- Capacity to design and execute activities that cater to diverse participant needs and preferences
- Familiarity with person-centered planning and individual support plans
- Valid drivers license reliable transportation and car insurance
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs
- Successful completion of a background check
- Commitment to attending all mandatory training sessions within specified timeframes

Responsibilities:
- Create and execute a range of recreational educational and therapeutic activities that align with participants interests and capabilities.
- Support participants in defining and reaching personal objectives related to community engagement skills development and socialization.
- Document participant progress and activity participation accurately and comprehensively.
- Collaborate with coworkers families and support professionals to ensure participant contentment and well-being.
- Stay informed on the latest practices and trends in community-based services for individuals with disabilities to enhance program effectiveness.
