    Job Summary:TheMcKinney-Vento and Homeless ProgramSpecialist supportsthe districts Homeless and Foster Liaison to provide complex administrative support to programs and personnelalignedtotheMcKinney-VentoHomelessAct;communicatesinformationtostaff studentsandthepublic;provides complete andaccurate records;andprovides information and direction regarding the districts Title I-A Homeless Set-Aside funding.

    ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIESincludethefollowing:

    • Assistswithpreparationdevelopmentmonitoringandmaintainingaccuratebudget workbook for Title I-A Homeless Set-Aside funding with up-to-date balances for department.
    • ServesasthesecondarypointofcontactforBestInterestDetermination(BID)meetings for foster students.
    • UnderstandsdistrictoforiginanddistrictofresidencyundertheESSAandthe McKinney-Vento Act.
    • Supportshomelessstudentsandfamiliesbycompletingandsubmittinginternal transportation requests.
    • CoordinateswithparentsandPeoriaunifiedemployeesfortransportationpickup/drop of times.
    • Greetsvisitorsanswerstelephonedirectscallstakesmessagesand/orprovides general information to callers and visitors.
    • Receivesdatestampsanddistributesmailpackagesbulletinsandflyers.
    • Compilesmaintainsupdatesmonitorstracksandresearchesavarietyoffiles records and databases.
    • Maintainshomelesssupplyinventory;preparesrequisitionstoordersupplies.
    • Coordinateswithfamiliesschoolsanddonororganizationstosupporttheclothingand toiletry needs of identified homeless students.
    • CollaborateswithDistrictLiaisonandAdministrationStafftoimproveproblem-solve and correct Homeless procedures and incidents.
    • Maintainsandupdatespolicyandproceduralmanuals.
    • Preparesagendasmeetingminutescontractsandformaldocuments.
    • Editsandproofreadsstaffwrittenreportsdocumentsormemorandaforgrammatical punctuation and spelling errors.
    • Performsother dutiesasassignedorrequired.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GED ANDtwo (2) years of relevant receptionist clerical customer service office support or closely related experience; ORany equivalentcombinationofexperienceand/oreducationfromwhichcomparableknowledge skills and abilities have been achieved.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Musthold or obtain an IVPfingerprint clearance cardandpass a backgroundcheck.
    • Mayberequiredtoworkoutsidenormalworking hours.
    • Mayberequiredtoliftand/orcarryheavybulkysuppliesmaterialsequipmentand other items weighing up to 35 pounds.
    • Mayberequiredtoobtain andmaintaina validArizonadriverslicense.
