MCHS Marching Band (Woodwind Camp Only)

TITLE: Band Extra Assistant Instructor

REPORTS TO: Band Director and Principal

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

1. Maintains at all times an orderly learning atmosphere and assists the Director in running the band program.
2. Assists the Director in reaching yearly goals of the band.
3. Instructs individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the area involved.
4. Evaluates his or her students progress and gives appropriate instruction to meet the needs of the student.
5. Assists the Director in organizing a regular program of practice for each student.
6. Supervises practices and assigned performances.
7. Assumes responsibility for equipment used in the band program with the Director.
8. Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
9. Develops and maintains appropriate relationships with students parents and colleagues.
10. Performs related duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Band Director Principal or Superintendent.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law
