The Tempur Sealy manufacturing site in Hagerstown MD is currently seeking Mattress Buildersfor our 1st shift. TheMattress Builderis responsible for taking pre-staged parts of the mattress and assembling them in the correct order.

Job Duties:

• Correctly assemble multiple bedding layers including springs felt foam and other materials in a safe and consistent manner.
• Works in a two-person team to pad & cover innerspring assemblies to form mattresses.
• Attaching layers of insulating materials using a hog ring gun. Attached toppers and panels by spraying hot glue.
• Adhere to all safety and quality requirements while meeting or exceeding production service levels.
• Participate in Department safety quality and continuous improvement events on an as needed basis.

Requirements:

• 1 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• 18 years of age with High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
• Fast-paced plant operations environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents including but not limited to safety rules procedures manual and policy manual.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with Department Supervisor Lead Coworkers and other personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a practical methodical way while working with a sense of urgency.
• Able to read and follow a written set of procedures.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods to sit and talk or hear.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
• The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
• Safety glasses are required PPE.
