SUPERVISES:
Student(s) and/or any area designated by the appropriate supervisor
JOB GOAL:
Assist instructional staff in mathematics by providing safe courteous
and orderly educationalsupport in a friendly and safe environment for
students allowing students to take full advantageof the instructional
program and available high-quality instructional materials (HQIM).
PERFORMANCE:
Perform the following duties under the schools mathematics teachers
direction and guidance.
Clerical:
Assist with preparing math instructional materials and datacollection
(behavioral academic and medical) including progress monitoring
of individualized education program (IEP) goals for students.
Instructional duties:
Provide opportunities for inclusive education and access
to evidence-basedinstructional strategies by working with individual and/or
small groups in mathematicsreinforcing instruction supervising learning
centers and work areas and providing individualattention when needed.
Classroom duties: Set up and use instructional equipment such as
computers audiovisual equipment and related technology; plan activities
and assist with the organization of activities from beginning to end.
Classroom management duties:
Maintain behavioral data and reinforce acceptable behaviors promote
positive intra-school and community-school relations.
Individual student assistance:
Assist in evaluating IEP Goals and
implementing evidence-based mathematics instructional strategies for
small groups or individual students based on their understanding needs
interests and abilities. Assist students to achieve at higher level skills.
Monitoring:
Supervise students in hall lavatory recess lunch playground
and classroom andactivities including but not limited to emergency
drills and assemblies.
Implement and execute provisions of State Statutes Board Policies and
Administrative rules and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of information and records.
Comply with all Plain Local Board of Education policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as directed.
