Job Description
Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginias capital city and five nearby counties. Annually our four campus sites serve approximately 13000 credit students and provide training for 7400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is committed to hiring and retaining a racially diverse culturally competent staff at all levels of the organization who reflect the demographics of our students. We also believe in providing an ongoing investment in our faculty and staff to deepen their skills and competencies to serve the full range of our student population. Reynolds Community College is seeking two part-time Math Central Tutors one for our PRC /virtual campus and one for our DTC /virtual campus. The Math Central Center supports the retention and success objectives through peer advising and course remediation. Tutor and provide academic support to students in mathematics individually in small groups or as an embedded tutor in a course. Such services may be provided in-person/on campus or virtually as determined by the supervisor. Communicate effectively using both oral and written skills for reports email student feedback etc. Maintain working knowledge of educational software programs (e.g. MyMathLab) and instructional techniques and tools. Distribute inventory and maintain MC equipment (e.g. calculators). May attend additional training sessions and Professional Development Opportunities related to position or at the supervisors discretion.
Work Schedule
This is a part-time hourly position without state benefits. Wage employees are restricted to working approximately 29 hours per week or less not to exceed 1500hours annually.
