Job Summary

Position Summary

Blue Ridge Community and Technical College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach college-level mathematics courses in the School of Workforce and Engineering Technology. This is specifically for the Fall 2026 semester (August 10 - December 22). This position will report directly to the Associate Dean of IT & Mathematics

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Deliver 15 credit hours during the Fall semester including JumpStart (high school dual enrollment students).
  • Maintain a minimum of ten office hours per week dedicated to students.
  • Assist the Chair Program Coordinator and Associate Dean with course development and initiatives to enhance student success.
  • Participate in course updates and curriculum assessment in collaboration with other IT and math faculty.
  • Collaborate with faculty staff and community in accordance with the core values of Blue Ridge Community & Technical College.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the operation of the institution.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. Preference given to candidates with a Masters degree in Mathematics or closely related area with minimum 18 credit hours in graduate level mathematics.


Experience

Ideal candidates for the position will have experience with or an active interest in active learning and education technologies; Teaching at the college or secondary level; Teaching in online synchronous blended or HyFlex formats. Experience with Student Information Systems Learning Management Systems or other similar Higher Education software is an asset.
