The Role: Maternity & Pediatrics Registered Nurse (RN) - Per Diem

The Opportunity:

MaineGeneral Health is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maternity & Pediatrics Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team Maternal/Child Health team at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.

Maternity & Pediatrics is a department with a dynamic nursing team that covers the areas of Labor & Delivery Postpartum (mother/baby) Pediatrics and the Level II Nursery.

This position has a Per Diem schedule.

The Work:

• Plans implements and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care including patient transfer discharge referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age culture condition and circumstances.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

You have:

• Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain one in a timely fashion required
• Mother/Baby Level II or Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
• Excellent teamwork communication and collaboration skills
• Critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
