Materials Planner II

As a Material Planner ll is Responsible for maintaining adequate levels of raw materials and components to support production requirements and maintenance of MRP and supporting systems.

This role supportsRheem North America and is based inMontgomery AL (Onsite).

• Monitor and update raw material component and subassembly min/max reorder levels considering delivery lead times forecasts and usage history.
• Conduct inventory analysis of assigned raw materials components and subassemblies to maximize inventory turns.
• Review dormant excess and obsolete materials monthly and take appropriate action to reduce or eliminate them.
• Submit deviations and MRP system adjustments as needed to maintain accurate backflushing and inventory levels.
• Set up ERP system planning parameters and update them as required.
• Participate in production meetings to proactively communicate material issues and recommend alternatives or solutions.
• Review and update supplier forecasts at least quarterly considering demand forecasts usage history and supplier performance.
• Identify and promote best practices related to material and inventory management including lean manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) methodologies.
• Communicate and assist in resolving issues related to BOM accuracy vendor performance purchase orders and other material-related concerns.
• Communicate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) regarding new or revised raw materials components and subassemblies to the appropriate production teams.
• Collaborate with vendors production purchasing production control material control and other stakeholders regarding material availability and inventory levels.
• Assist in developing and recommending strategies to improve material flow and enhance the ability to accommodate schedule changes with minimal disruption and loss of efficiency.
• Support achievement and maintenance of department KPIs established by the Materials Manager and Supervisor.
