How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

As the materialmanager on this campus you will be responsibleto overseethe procurement storage and distribution of materialsensuringefficient inventory management and supplier relationships to support productionfor theCoolingportionof the organization.This position is tactical in nature and involves tasks likeinventorymanagement procurement supplierrelationsandlogisticscoordination.Key to this role will be to learn in a fast past environment.
Reporting into theCooling Plant Managerthis position is also responsiblefor trainingoperations staff signing purchase orders and tracking the flow of inventory through the companys supply chain
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunitiestoSPX your core responsibilities will be:
Inventorymanagement:
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that materials are available when needed while avoiding excess stock that could lead to waste.
Approximate value of inventory under management will be$30M.
Procurement:
Procure materials supplies and equipment necessary for production
Develop and implement procurement strategies toacquirematerials atoptimalcosts whilemaintainingquality standards.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to securefavorableterms.
Plan inventory levels and manage stock levels to ensure materials are available when needed
Approximate value of annual purchase is$100M.
Supplierrelations:
Establish andmaintainstrong relationships with suppliers addressing any issues that arise and ensuringtimelydelivery of materials.
Logistics Coordination:
Oversee thelogisticsof incoming and outgoing materials ensuring alignment with production schedules and operational needs.
Manage the receipt storage and distribution of materials in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
This position supports both onsite businesses by managing the shipping and receivingstaff.
Compliance:
Ensure all material management activitiescomply withindustry standards and regulations including environmental laws.
Team management:
Lead anddevelop thematerials management team fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and innovation.
What we are looking for (Experience Knowledge Skills Abilities Education)
We each bring something to the table and we are looking for someone who has:
Preferred Experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational abilities
Proficiencyin inventory management systems
The use of ERP systems (preferably Epicor) to help drive performance.
Experience in greenfield or brownfieldstart upsstart-ups.
Education & Certifications
A bachelors degree in supply chain managementlogistics business administration or a related field is preferred.
