Materials Engineer, Failure Analysis Labs

Job Summary
You will be responsible for managing projects from cross-functional teams related to failure analysis and materials characterization. Responsibilities will include alignment with project initiators determination of the project lead defining budgets and obtaining financial approvals regular communication of status and critical issues to a wide group highlighting issues impacting timeline to project initiators and tracking and delivery of project goals within the agreed schedule. nn- Lead efforts on project management for a Failure Analysis (FA) teamnn- Serve as the primary point of contact for communications across a project and alert the broader team of any changes to scope goals timeline and deliverablesnn- Monitor project progress and performance ensuring alignment with goals and adjusting as necessarynn- Develop strong links to the team of internal lab engineers partner teams in other company functions and key external vendorsnn- Apply best-in-class project management methodologies on all projectsnn- Implement an effective communication strategy to ensure that all project partners are kept fully informed on project progressnn- Ensure that projects are well scoped utilize appropriate resources and apply well-costed solutionsnn- Provide succinct and accurate updatesnn- Ensure that the team meets its key goals and critical issues are clearly understood and communicatednn- Flexible to deal with fast-changing business environments and focus on measurements including cost quality and availabilitynn- Tracking purchases across the organization and managing budget toolsnn- Flexibility to coordinate with global teams across multiple time zonesn
Minimum B.S. in Materials Science Chemistry Biology Engineering Management or a related engineering field with 3 years industry with engineering management fundamentals and possess the ability to balance multiple projects and timelinesnUnderstanding of material characterization techniques (e.g. X-ray CT SEM FTIR XPS AFM etc.)
MS or PhD in Materials Science Chemistry Biology Engineering Management or related engineering fieldn3 years of relevant experience in a project management or engineering management role supporting a diverse array of projects and with a variety of materials characterization techniques is desired (e.g. X-ray CT SEM FTIR XPS AFM etc)n Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentnAbility to collaborate with different teams including engineering operations business functions and external vendors using influencing skills to drive decisions and meet deadlinesnAnalytical thinker who is data driven with a can-do attitude and flexibility to accommodate evolving business needsnStrong problem resolution problem solving and presentation skillsnAbility to articulate complex business and technical situations to a variety of audiences
