Summary

Marathon Petroleum Company is seeking a Material Handler to support warehouse operations at the St. Paul Park Refinery. This role performs material handling activities in support of routine maintenance ensuring materials are received stored staged and issued safely accurately and efficiently and interfaces daily with Operations Maintenance Engineering Supply Chain delivery drivers and supplier representatives while playing a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting site reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive inspect and process inbound shipments verifying materials against packing slips and SAP records.
  • Pull stage and issue materials for maintenance and operations using SAP and Fiori tools.
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory audits; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely (forklifts pallet jacks transport vehicles).
  • Execute material transactions in SAP including receipts issues transfers and inventory adjustments.
  • Support Positive Material Identification (PMI) and quality verification processes as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance and audit requirements.
  • Assist in resolving material issues including damaged over/short or non-conforming items.
  • Support hazardous materials shipping and ensure compliance with DOT/IATA requirements.
  • Maintain a clean safe and organized warehouse environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure material availability.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • SAP or ERP experience (inventory/material management).
  • 13 years of warehouse/material handling experience.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
  • Hazardous materials handling/shipping experience.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Additional Requirements / Work Practices

  • Follow all site safety requirements including PPE and safe equipment use.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections (e.g. forklifts).
  • Ensure hazardous materials are properly handled and cleared from dock areas daily.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail for SAP accuracy and audit compliance.
  • Demonstrate clear communication teamwork and accountability.

Work Schedule

4/10 Schedule: MondayThursday with potential overtime for workload support and turnarounds.
