How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a material handler you have a key role in meeting customer expectations for on time delivery.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities to SPX your core responsibilities will be:

Safety

• Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business.
• Maintain clean orderly work areas and equipment.
• Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor.

Material Management

• Transport materials to and from loading docks delivery trucks and storage areas.
• Collect and properly dispose scrap cardboard and strapping.
• Prepare finished goods for shipment by identifying pulling packing crating loading and securing product.
• Complete transport of finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.

Inventory Control

• Maintains inventory by identifying labelling and keeping materials and supplies in stock recording location of inventory and reporting shortages.
• Review orders for quality and accuracy.
• Confirm documents shipping details or special instructions are complete and accurate.
• Follow processes for expedite shipments affecting the production schedule.

Culture

• Desire to do the right thing
• Team player assisting other team members and departments as needed with other duties not routine to position
• Punctual on time ready to work every day

What we are looking for (Experience Knowledge Skills Abilities Education)

We each bring something to the table and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

• 1 year experience in shipping/manufacturing environment
• 1 year experience certified Fork truck

Preferred Experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong math skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Process improvement mindset
• Knowledge of inventory control
• Puts safety first
• Excellent attendance

Education & Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
