Job Summary:

The Material Handler I is responsible for receiving moving storing counting tracking issuing and shipping a variety of production parts materials and supplies. The production floor relies on this position to provide the right parts and materials at the right time to meet on-time-delivery goals.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain accurate inventory control by following established work instructions and processes.

• Move materials to and from receiving production areas and shipping by hand using sorting bins and carts or other equipment

• Unpack receive and stock materials into storeroom location(s)

• Read work orders to determine material and equipment needs for production cell work

• Issue critical materials to production cells

• Complete the cycle count process for Value Stream; Escalate variances in counts as needed

• Respond to unplanned issues with internal customers in a timely manner

• Pack and ship materials in accordance with contract requirements

• Aid and/or Backfill coworkers as needed to complete daily tasks

• Ensure compliance with export compliance rules

• Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience: 0-3 years of relevant manufacturing experience

• Knowledge: Warehousing and materials packing knowledge

• Familiar with lean principles

• Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated outstanding manual dexterity; Demonstrated ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks; Demonstrated ability to accurately follow detailed work instructions; Demonstrated ability to understand standard work instructions; Math skills to perform basic calculations; Outstanding verbal communication skills; Proficient with MS Office

• Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with manufacturing software tools

• Materials and Logistics experience

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses gowning masks hearing protectors heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises cold temperatures confined spaces dust or fumes

• Standing: 50-75% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

• Sitting: 25-50% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

• Lifting (in pounds): up to 35 pounds

• Pushing (in pounds): up to 35 pounds

• Mental/Visual: use of computer eye-loop

• Workspace: stand up computer workstation and kitting carts
