1st shift Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm

Location/Division Specific Information:

This is a Material Handler I role in the Material Handling department. Your work shift will be 1st shift Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm. Within the Material Handling department you will perform multiple tasks and regularly use PIT addition to daily tasks you will participate in safety quality and process improvement initiatives.

A Day in the Life:

Receiving examining sorting arranging counting storing picking and packing items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.

Preparing and filing routine documentation.

Maintaining quality metrics.

Operating material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck pallet jack Forklift etc).

Working in and out of a 4c walk-in Cold Room and -20c walk-in Freezer.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

No previous work experience required

Preferred: Experience in distribution warehouse or supply chain or related field

Preferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers)

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.

Self-motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural language and educational backgrounds.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Ability to regularly sit stand walk talk and hear; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Close vision and ability to adjust focus are required.

Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds. May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion.

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $12.56$18.85.
