A Material Handler performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping receiving inspecting storing issuing and delivering a variety of materials equipment and supplies.
Material Handler / Warehouse Worker - Based in Berlin CT

1st Shift: 7:00AM- 3:30PM Monday - Friday
2nd Shift: 1:00PM- 9:30PM Monday - Friday

Duties and Responsibilities
- Executes foundational tasks within a warehouse environment including but not limited to: packaging unpackaging put away sorting staging picking shipping and preparing units for production.
- Cut open boxed inventory in the storage area or on the rack.
- Place open boxes on the appropriate shelf of the flow rack.
- Walk the length of the flow rack.
- Wrap cords neatly and securely ensuring they are tangle-free.
- Assist with labeling tagging or color-coding wrapped cords as needed for easy identification.
- Consistently meet or surpass daily production and quality goals.
- Complete required paperwork forms or digital records accurately and promptly for documentation purposes.
- Maintain a clean organized workstation.
- Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations.
- All other duties assigned based on the business the warehouse supports.
Required Skills and Experience
- Capacity to demonstrate reliability adaptability and dependability.
- Attention to detail accuracy and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Basic computer ability.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution manufacturing technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
- Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Clerical skills.
- Time-management skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Warehouse environment.
- Stand dynamically for long periods.
- Use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel; the ability to type pick pinch with fingers seize hold grasp or turn with hands.
- Lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Push and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Reach up and out with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to climb stairs or ladders.
