Job Summary
The Opportunity:
The Master Scheduler will be responsible for developing maintaining and optimizing project schedules to ensure the timely delivery of projects. This role requires a strong understanding of scheduling tools project management principles and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The Master Scheduler will play a critical role in aligning project timelines with strategic objectives and resource availability.
Responsibilities:
Schedule Development and Maintenance:
*Create and maintain detailed project schedules using advanced scheduling software (e.g. Primavera P6 Microsoft Project).
* Ensure schedules are aligned with project milestones deadlines and resource availability.
Resource Allocation:
*Coordinate and allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines and quality standards.
*Work closely with project managers and team leads to balance workloads and address resource constraints.
Risk Management:
* Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies.
*Conduct regular schedule risk assessments and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Stakeholder Communication:
*Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on schedule status progress and any changes.
*Facilitate meetings with project teams to review schedules and address any issues.
Process Improvement:
*Continuously evaluate and improve scheduling processes and tools.
*Implement best practices in scheduling and project management.
Compliance and Documentation:
*Ensure all scheduling activities comply with company policies contractual requirements and industry standards.
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of schedules and related communications.
Support and Mentorship:
*Provide guidance and support to junior schedulers and project team members.
*Mentor and train team members on scheduling best practices and tools.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Computer Science Business Administration or a related field is ideal.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in scheduling with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
- Experience in defense intelligence or federal projects is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile Waterfall).
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is preferred.
- Certification in scheduling (e.g. Certified Associate in Project Management Scheduling (CAPS)) is a plus.

Pay Range:
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including but not limited to geographic location Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates relevant prior work experience specific skills and competencies education and certifications.
