Job Summary
MSSU is seeking candidates for a Master Instructor Position in the Department of Language and Literature starting August 2027 in Joplin Missouri. Successful candidates should be prepared to teach English courses. Master instructors are responsible for 15 credits of instruction in fall and spring semesters the majority of which will be first-year composition. Experience teaching professional and technical writing or expertise in American literature before 1865 is preferred as is experience administering internships. Specialization is open.
The position requires a demonstrated commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level. A Ph.D. in English or a related field is preferred; however ABD candidates and those holding masters degrees will be considered.
