Department Summary The Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) is a unique residential program for high school-aged Texas students who are high achievers and interested in mathematics and science. While living on campus in McConnell Hall students in this two-year program complete a rigorous academic curriculum of college coursework at the University of North Texas (UNT). Instruction is by university faculty. There are no high school courses taught but students enjoy many of the activities of high school and the company of age mates who are intellectual peers. The Honors College is dedicated to enriching the undergraduate academic experience for the more than 2000 talented motivated and well-prepared students who choose to be members. The goal of the Honors College is to help these students build an excellent foundation that prepares them for studying at the graduate level and establishing a fulfilling career. |
Position Overview The TAMS Recruitment and Marketing Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the organization of TAMS recruitment events providing support for departmental events and creating effective marketing materials for departmental initiatives and TAMS recruitment. The position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills. The position will represent our colleges in online media and at departmental events. The position will help support the TAMS Alumni effort as needed. |
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in related field or in communications marketing advertising public relations; or any equivalent combination of experience education and training. |
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Understanding of market segmentation principles of marketing integrated marketing communications principles and branding. Ability to visually inspect copy in MS Office and requisite publishing graphic design and media to think creatively organize tasks work independently and meet to use Associated Press communications to conceptualize plan and organize multiple programs and assignments to establish and maintain effective working relationships. |
Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in marketing or a related field and one year of event planning experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
