Marketing Science Operations Associate Director

What you will do

Lets change the world. Amgens Data Science organization is seeking a US-basedMarketing Science Operations (MSO) Associate Director (AD)to serve as the US business-facing lead for BI and Data Engineering delivery within Marketing Science.

This role provides leadership for a distributed global team spanninganalytics business intelligence marketing and data functions. The AD is accountable for driving alignment prioritization and high-quality delivery across cross-functional BI and data engineering teams along with external partners.

This roleis responsible foradvancing theanalyticsand BI landscape through innovation scalability and capability expansion. The AD will drive the integration of AI/ML-enabledanalytics automation and next-generation data capabilities into core workflows shaping the platform roadmap and enabling more predictive data-driven decision-making. This role alsoestablishesgovernance and standards to ensure sustainable growth and serves as the primary escalation point prior to Director involvement.

This is a high-visibility role requiring strong business acumen operational rigor and cross-functional leadership.

This is a Flexible Commuter role based at Amgens Thousand Oaks CA or Deerfield IL site requiringon-site presence1-2days per week.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Executive Leadership

• Frame KPIs and align metrics acrossInvestmentAnalyticsand MediaAnalyticsinitiatives.
• Translate business priorities into structuredanalytical roadmaps.
• Lead insight synthesis and ensure executive-ready delivery.
• Serve asprimaryUS stakeholder interface for BIworkstream under MSO workstream.

2. Portfolio Governance & Capacity Planning

• Own portfolio prioritization and demand intake across Business Intelligenceand Data Engineeringworkstreams.
• Drive quarterly capacity planning and resource forecasting.
• Ensure alignment between business priorities anddeliveryroadmaps.
• Serve as first escalation layer before Director involvement.

3. Tableau Platform & Team Leadership

• Provide functional leadership for the Tableau team (managers andanalysts).
• Define and own the Tableau roadmap alignedtobusiness and enterprise strategy.
• Establish governance standards for dashboard lifecycle quality and change management.
• Promote scalable design self-service enablement and performance optimization.

4. Cross-Vendor & Cross-Geo Orchestration

• Coordinate delivery across ACCP AIN and offshore teams.
• Ensure clarity in roles accountability and execution standards.
• Drive transparency on delivery status risks and mitigation plans.

5. Standardization & Automation

• Standardize KPI definitions reporting frameworks and documentation practices.
• Own the MSO automation and innovation roadmap with defined milestones.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency scalability and speed-to-insight.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 3 years of data scienceanalytics marketing operations or related experience

OR

Masters degree and 5 years of data scienceanalytics marketing operations or related experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 7 years of data scienceanalytics marketing operations or related experience

OR

Associates degree and 12 years of data scienceanalytics marketing operations or related experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 14 years of data scienceanalytics marketing operations or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8 years of experience inbusiness intelligence marketing science marketinganalytics oranalyticsprogram leadership.
• Experience managing portfolio governance and capacity planning.
• Proven ability to lead cross-vendor and globally distributed delivery models.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience driving automation standardization and operational improvement initiatives.
• Experience in biotechnology pharmaceutical or regulated industriespreferred.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant skills experience and qualifications.
