Position Overview:
Dakota Woodlands isseekinga motivated and creativeMarketing & Communications Assistantto support the organizations outreach storytelling and engagement efforts. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing communications and community impact.
The assistant will assistwith a variety of projects that elevate the organizations visibility strengthen donor and community engagement and communicate the impact of our work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with social media management including creating and scheduling posts
- Support development and distribution of email communications (e.g. newsletters announcements campaigns)
- Help design marketing materials including flyers brochures and digital graphics
- Update and maintain content on the Dakota Woodlands website
- Assist in creating presentations for community outreach donors and stakeholders
- Support storytelling efforts by helping draft and share client success stories (while maintaining confidentiality and dignity)
- Help prepare and distribute quarterly newsletters (digital and print)
- Assist with assembling mailings and outreach materials
- Provide general support for marketing campaigns events and communications projects
- Perform other related tasks as needed to support the mission
Qualifications:
- Current student or recent graduate in Marketing Communications Public Relations Nonprofit Management or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic design skills (Canva Adobe or similar tools preferred)
- Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn Facebook Instagram)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Passion for nonprofit work and a heart for serving families in need
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
