GEICO is seeking a business-oriented attorney to support its marketing team. This role will provide legal guidance on consumer-facing advertising and marketing initiatives across social media SMS email web direct mail and other channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and advise on consumer-facing marketing and advertising content.
• Advise on SMS marketing email marketing outbound calling consent collection opt-out requirements and preference management.
• Review advertising claims disclosures testimonials endorsements influencer content promotions and sweepstakes.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• 4-8 years of legal experience preferably in-house or at a law firm supporting advertising marketing consumer protection or communications compliance matters.
• Strong working knowledge of advertising law and TCPA CTIA carrier rules and CAN-SPAM.
• Ability to provide clear practical business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent judgment communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• Experience in insurance financial services telecommunications or another highly regulated industry.

Location

• Bethesda MD; Cleveland OH New York NY. (Hybrid three days a week)

Annual Salary

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include but are not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the role the selected candidates work experience education and training the work location as well as market and business considerations.
