Position Overview
Marine Technicians report to the Service Manager and play an essential role in the daily operations of our Service Department. Youll work on a wide variety of boats engines and marine systems while expanding your technical knowledge through hands-on experience and manufacturer-supported training.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot marine systems.
Remove repair and reinstall engines transoms and outdrives.
Disassemble units and inspect components for wear and damage.
Overhaul or replace carburetors blowers generators distributors starters pumps electrical and fuel systems.
Rebuild engine components including cylinder blocks and outdrives.
Install and repair marine electronics and accessories.
Complete repairs efficiently using the service scheduling system.
Maintain current manufacturer certifications.
Participate in manufacturer training and certification programs (paid by Goodhue).
Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail.
Experience servicing marine engines and systems.
Manufacturer certifications (Mercury Volvo Yamaha etc.) preferred.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Education & Licensing
Minimum of two years of experience in a repair or service facility or completion of a vocational/high school automotive or marine technology program.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid Drivers License required.
Boaters License preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment.
Schedule
Five-day work week
Monday-Friday during the off-season
Weekend rotation during peak season
Overtime available
