Marine Engineer AsstWelder Day Shift

Responsible for the safe operation and repair of all systems onboard the vessel. 

• Ability to perform duties as outlined by the vessel Station Bill. 

• Monitor an complete all repairs and preventive maintenance aboard the vessel. 

• Ensure all emergency systems onboard the vessel are operational at all times. 

• Perform maintenance rounds. 

• Perform routine maintenance including changing light bulbs cleaning plumbing blockage cleaning decks and overheads and unloading trash. 

• Perform potable water fueling and sewage procedures. 

• Assist in pulling new electrical and computer cables. 

Qualifications :

• Must be at least 21 years of age. 

• Must have an understanding of diesel engines and controls gen sets and controls HVAC and controls hydraulic systems piping and steel fitting welding blazing sweating soldering pump operation and repair shipboard electrical systems. Basic electronics and pneumatic systems. 

• Must be able to use a variety of power tools and able to carry and climb ladders. 

• Must be able to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. 

• Must be able to crouch crawl and kneel. 

• Must be able to work outside in adverse weather conditions. 

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. 

• Must be able to obtain/maintain any other necessary licenses and/or certifications.
