Skillset / Experience:
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage purchasing and assortment decisions within the Marine & Boating category. This role will analyze sales and inventory data develop product assortments manage vendor relationships negotiate terms and collaborate with sourcing merchandising eCommerce and planning teams to drive sales and achieve business goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the Marine & Boating product categories
- Analyze sales inventory market trends and financial data
- Develop assortment pricing promotional and sourcing strategies
- Build and negotiate relationships with vendors/suppliers
- Partner with merchandising eCommerce sourcing and planning teams
- Manage multiple initiatives and product lifecycles
- Mentor/support Assistant Buyers and other team members
- Travel occasionally (up to 15%)
Qualifications:
- 5 years of retail or customer service experience preferred
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
- Strong communication and problemsolving skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data
- Skill in managing multiple categories in a fastpaced environment
- Experience mentoring or coaching others
- Ability to develop strong vendor relationships
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- A team-first attitude; while your core duties are your priority youre happy to step in wherever youre needed
Work Style and Physical Requirements
- Up to 15% travel including domestic and international trips
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
- Regular in-office attendance is required
- Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
- Ability to adhere to company policies and professional standards
