The Manufacturing Training Specialist in our Plymouth MN location is responsible for creating training content leading On-the-Job (OJT) and classroom training of manufacturing employees coordination of training schedules monitoring and evaluating effectiveness of training and onboarding within the manufacturing team. Ensuring compliance to all STERIS safety quality and operations processes. This position will also be involved in assisting with documentation revision. Works closely with the Operations Safety and Quality Managers to establish training needs and ensure compliance within operations.
This position requires working onsite in our Plymouth manufacturing facility.
The hours for this role are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Must be able to occasionally start earlier or stay later based on business needs.
- Responsible for the implementation and execution of new training systems including development of innovating training programs to support manufacturing and peripheral departments.
- Maintain and enhance Quality systems by identifying isolating and resolving problems with existing processes.
- Utilize available LMS systems/programs to create training content as needed.
- Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as orientation on-the-job training refresher training etc.
- Participate in performance assessments by reporting on skill development and teamwork abilities.
- Introduce training system upgrades by identifying and implementing more efficient technology and methods to facilitate training across departments.
- Provide training schedules coordinate enrollments and record attendance.
- Coordinate training schedules for new hire employees and cross training for current employees.
- Coordinate HSE training needs for new hires based on role and line placement.
- In conjunction with the HSE Department develop coordinate and/or deliver HSE procedures training.
- In conjunction with the Quality Department develop coordinate and/or deliver Quality procedures training.
- Work directly with Engineers to update Process Work Instructions (PWIs) and Work Instructions (WI processes.
- Assist with interviewing of potential training department candidates.
- Create course materials that will achieve the desired learning outcomes. The modes of delivery may include classroom on-demand videos and live demonstrations. The materials may include PowerPoint presentations class exercises student handouts tests and assessments.
- Audit trainees to measure progress and to evaluate the effectiveness of training.
- Provides staff in operations with training activities and advises line supervisors on techniques of employee development.
- Develop strong relationships with internal customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Bachelors degree and a minimum of 1 year of training experience or Associates degree and a minimum of 3 years of training experience.
- Degree in business education organizational development or similar field.
- In lieu of a degree High School diploma /GED and a minimum of 7 years of training experience.
- Training experience in a similar related industry/work environment (e.g. manufacturing service distribution etc.).
Preferred:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience working in regulated environment within the drug and or medical device industry preferred.
Other:
- Excellent organization time management and project management skills
- Relevant experience using Microsoft Office Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook LMS.
- Accountability and ownership of goals and results.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and drive results in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Data driven and strategic thinking for solving problems and continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge of lean tools and concepts along with problem solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and presentation skills.
- Organized and able to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Understanding of Adult Learning Principles.
- Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions.
- Understanding of how to encourage coach and mentor employees.
- Ability to work flexible hours to cover multiple shifts as needed

Pay range for this opportunity is$55250.00-$71500.00.This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors including but not limited to local labor market costs years of relevant experience education professional certifications foreign language fluency etc.
