Manufacturing Technicians

PGS Worldwide is seeking Manufacturing Technicians in Oxnard California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support the fabrication assembly testing rework and inspection of mechanical and electromechanical hardware used in advanced spacecraft systems. Technicians will work closely with engineers while handling precision components composite materials adhesives test equipment and manufacturing documentation.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Experience performing mechanical fabrication assembly or manufacturing work.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings schematics manufacturing instructions and shop planning.
• Experience using common hand tools such as wrenches screwdrivers and related assembly tools.
• Understanding of proper hand-tool techniques and shop safety practices.
• Familiarity with torque requirements and proper application of torque during assembly.
• Ability to read write and follow technical instructions written in English.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to accurately document material usage production activity and traceability information.
• Ability to work with fragile materials and components.
• Ability to lift push and pull up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to work flexible hours overtime and alternate shifts based on production requirements.
• Strong initiative adaptability and attention to quality.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience using electronic test equipment such as DC power supplies digital multimeters and source meters.
• Experience performing prototype or subassembly testing.
• Experience collecting and evaluating manufacturing or test data.
• Experience supporting mechanical or electromechanical engineering development.
• Familiarity with composite-material handling.
• Experience tracking adhesive pot life out time usage and material traceability.
• Proficiency with basic shop mathematics.
• Familiarity with ISO requirements and manufacturing quality standards.
• Experience with cranes rigging forklifts or similar manufacturing equipment.
• Soldering experience.
• J-STD certification.

What Youll Do

• Fabricate and assemble mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Support production of spacecraft structures mechanisms and related hardware.
• Set up and test prototype units and subassemblies under operating conditions.
• Collect and analyze test and manufacturing data.
• Recommend adjustments to components or test procedures when required.
• Support engineers with setup calibration testing fabrication and manufacturing activities.
• Perform rework and quality testing on parts components subassemblies and final assemblies.
• Assist in developing or improving manufacturing methods and procedures.
• Handle and manage fragile composite materials.
• Track adhesive usage traceability pot life and out-time requirements.
• Read and work from manufacturing and engineering drawings.
• Document production and test results.
• Communicate manufacturing data and issues to engineering and other departments.
• Support experiments and process-development activities.
• Maintain a clean safe and organized manufacturing work area.

Pay

• $47.30 per hour.
