Summary:

The Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for assembling optical components and supporting manufacturing operations in a clean and controlled environment. This role requires working with small parts under a microscope using precision tools while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow detailed work instructions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble optical components using UV cured epoxy and precision assembly techniques.
  • Work with small parts under a microscope using tweezers and other fine tools.
  • Process manufacturing work orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow all PPE and workplace safety requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO9000 standards ESD protocols and work area cleanliness requirements.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings to communicate production progress and challenges.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen 5S and Practical Process Improvement activities.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure organized workspaces according to established 5S procedures.

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience handling and assembling small parts under a microscope.
  • Experience using tweezers and other small hand tools for precision work.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Manufacturing and optical assembly environment.
  • Use of PPE and adherence to ESD and ISO quality standards required.
  • Precision work involving microscopes and delicate components.
  • Basic computer knowledge for processing work orders and documentation.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
