The Manufacturing Technician I for Leica Biosystems is responsible for assembling mechanical and optical components. This position is part of Production Team located in Vista CA and will be an on-site role reporting to the Supervisor Manufacturing . At Leica Biosystems our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
You will be a part of the Production Operations Team and report to the Manager Manufacturing responsible for working to assemble scanners and related products. If you thrive in a multifunctional fast paced role and want to work to build a world-class manufacturing organizationread on.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Follow written procedures and perform all steps required to assemble Aperio Digital Pathology scanners and related products. Tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Electro-mechanical assembly
- Routing of cable and harness assemblies
- Building of optical sub-assemblies
- Visual and mechanical inspections of components and assemblies.
- Installing software
- Perform basic troubleshooting
- Identify proper focus of optical assemblies viewing through eyepiece or on computer monitor.
- Complete related paperwork
The essential requirements of the job include:
- High School diploma or equivalent or in lieu of High School diploma willing to accept 2 years work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Outlook Word Excel Google docs).
- Ability to learn and understand technical information related to our products offered.
- Ability to lift move or carry equipment up to 25 lb
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- 1 years assembly experience in electromechanical production environment ideally in medical device.
- Identifying product and process issues. Clearly proposing and communicating improvements.
The hourly range for this role is $22 - $24. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
