Manufacturing Methods Technician Level I

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Methods Technician Level I is a hands-on member of the Manufacturing Methods team responsible for supporting the setup construction and improvement of workstations fixtures tooling and production processes. This role works closely with the Manufacturing Methods Manager to turn process improvement ideas into practical shop-floor solutions that improve safety quality efficiency and ergonomics.

Key Responsibilities

• Build assemble maintain and modify production workstations jigs fixtures and tooling setups.
• Set up and safely operate hand tools power tools drill presses and other production equipment.
• Assist with workstation layout ergonomic improvements and production floor organization.
• Observe current production processes to identify inefficiencies bottlenecks or opportunities for improvement.
• Document workflows and provide feedback or recommendations to the Manufacturing Methods Manager.
• Participate in process improvement trials pilot runs and implementation of approved changes.
• Collaborate with production operators engineers supervisors and Methods team members to support manufacturing goals.
• Maintain a clean organized and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in manufacturing fabrication mechanical trades or a related production environment.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read basic drawings and safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow written work instructions SOPs and safety procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with machining CNC turning milling or fabrication.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing 5S Kaizen or continuous improvement practices.
• Experience building or modifying production fixtures tooling or workstations.
• Vocational or technical training in manufacturing machining or industrial technology.
• Experience in furniture marine outdoor products or custom manufacturing is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position operates primarily on the manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery tools noise and standard industrial conditions. PPE is required and provided. The role requires standing walking bending reaching using tools and equipment and lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed.
