We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to support the safe and dependable operation of plant equipment utilities and facility systems.
Responsibilities
Plant and Equipment Maintenance- Inspect troubleshoot repair and maintain production equipment and plant utility systems.
- Respond to equipment failures and production interruptions in a timely manner.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and document completed work.
- Diagnose recurring equipment problems and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Repair or replace pumps valves seals gaskets flanges fittings gearboxes and other mechanical components.
- Apply practical fabrication and troubleshooting methods when replacement parts or technical documentation are unavailable.
- Coordinate equipment shutdowns repairs testing and restarts with production personnel and management.
- Operate and maintain low-pressure boilers and related steam-distribution equipment.
- Inspect steam condensate feedwater and water-softening systems.
- Complete scheduled boiler blowdowns water testing and routine system checks.
- Troubleshoot and replace steam traps safety valves controls condensate lines and related components.
- Maintain complete operating logs inspection records and maintenance documentation.
- Follow all applicable boiler codes and safe operating procedures.
- Maintain chemical reactors mixers agitators scrubbers spargers centrifuges flowmeters burners and related process equipment.
- Repair and replace agitator gearboxes seals gaskets pumps and associated components.
- Follow established procedures when working around corrosive reactive or hazardous chemicals.
- Inspect equipment for leaks wear corrosion vibration or other conditions that could affect safe operation.
- Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production.
- Install repair and modify plant piping for steam condensate water compressed air and chemical services.
- Work with carbon steel galvanized steel stainless steel copper and PVC piping.
- Replace valves fittings flanges pumps and damaged piping components.
- Perform basic pipefitting soldering welding or fabrication work when qualified.
- Verify completed piping work for safe operation and leak-free performance.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs within the technicians level of training and authorization.
- Replace motors and test starters sensors solenoids switches and basic control circuits.
- Read and follow simple electrical diagrams and wiring schematics.
- Escalate advanced electrical problems to qualified internal or external resources.
- Ensure that electrical work complies with company procedures and applicable safety requirements.
- Follow OSHA requirements and company procedures for lockout/tagout confined-space entry fall protection hot work powered industrial trucks hazard communication and personal protective equipment.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and maintain clean orderly work areas.
- Participate in safety inspections incident reviews and corrective-action activities.
- Complete required safety training and maintain assigned certifications.
- Identify unsafe conditions and report or correct them promptly.
- Maintain accurate maintenance safety and inspection records.
- At least two years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility.
- Practical mechanical knowledge and experience troubleshooting plant equipment.
- Familiarity with low-pressure boilers steam distribution or related utility systems.
- Experience maintaining process equipment such as reactors mixers pumps centrifuges burners agitators or gearboxes.
- Basic process-piping or pipefitting experience.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to follow simple wiring diagrams.
- Working knowledge of lockout/tagout PPE hazard communication and general OSHA safety practices.
- Familiarity with GMP requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to use spreadsheets email mobile devices and basic electronic maintenance records.
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with production staff technicians contractors and supervisors.
- Ability to lift move push or pull at least 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Low-pressure boiler operator license or certification.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance mechanical systems pipefitting or electrical technology.
- Experience in chemical pharmaceutical food cosmetics coatings or other process-manufacturing environments.
- Welding soldering or pipefitting experience.
- Experience maintaining older or legacy manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical fabrication and root-cause troubleshooting skills.
