Job Summary

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Physical Infrastructure & Cabling: Run route terminate and secure low-voltage network cables (Cat5e/Cat6) across the facility. Connect automated machinery industrial printers workstations and peripherals to the plant network.
  • Corporate IT Liaison: Collaborate directly with Corporate IT staff to implement network infrastructure upgrades server rollouts and company-wide software deployments.
  • Systems Maintenance & Updates: Coordinate with corporate teams to schedule and execute local system patches firmware updates and software licensing compliance without disrupting production schedules.
  • Multi-Facility Collaboration: Partner closely with the local co-technician to share knowledge hand off ongoing projects seamlessly and maintain consistent IT standards across both plant locations.
  • Monthly Building Rotation: Rotate physical work locations between the two local facilities on a monthly schedule to ensure continuous familiarity with both environments and teams.
  • First-Response Shop Floor Support: Respond immediately to technical issues on the production floor to minimize machinery downtime. Diagnose hardware failures on glass cutting tables tempering control stations and coating line terminals.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Install configure and repair ruggedized PCs industrial touchscreen monitors thermal barcode printers and handheld inventory scanners.
  • Software Troubleshooting: Provide front-line support for production lines utilizing Shopfloor and ClearPath software.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate site documentation regarding corporate hardware standards network drop maps and asset tracking. Ensure all local systems strictly adhere to corporate cybersecurity policies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience: 13 years of hands-on IT support experience. Experience working inside a manufacturing plant warehouse or industrial environment is highly preferred.
  • Cabling & Hardware Skills: Practical experience running Ethernet cables punching down jacks managing cable trays and neatly routing wires in an industrial or office setting.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows 10 & 11 Active Directory Management and remote deployment tools.
    • Computer hardware knowledge including reimaging and migrations.
    • Software deployment
    • Minimal server OS management.
    • IP addressing
    • Basic understanding of network topology TCP/IP switches and corporate Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
    • Experience configuring peripheral devices like barcode scanners and industrial printers.
    • Vendor collaboration (scheduling and holding them accountable for work completion etc.)
    • Scissor/Boom lift experience is a plus.
    • Camera WAP Speaker Installations.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills and the ability to act as a reliable remote liaison for centralized Corporate IT teams. Flexibility to adapt to different facility layouts on a month-to-month basis.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and walk the plant floor for extended periods climb ladders crawl under workstations run cables through tight spaces or over scaffolding and lift up to 50 lbs. of IT equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Job Flexibility There will be projects that need to be completed sometime before and after scheduled work hours.
