Manufacturing Engineering Manager (PCBA)
Job Summary
- Responsible for running the production floor for the PCBA team including setting up and running an SMT line.
- Engages with design engineers to improve assembly processes and provide feedback.
- Manages a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians.
- 5-8 years of experience in PCBA assembly processes with a strong technical foundation.
- Must have people management experience; direct leadership preferred.
- Agile and flexible capable of handling a dynamic environment.
- This company is a space startup with a $2.8 billion valuation building micro geostationary satellites.
- Focuses on both commercial and government satellite programs to enhance regional internet infrastructure.
- Salary range of $150000 to $230000 with flexibility for ideal candidates from top companies.
- Onsite work arrangement located in San Francisco; no visa sponsorship available.
- The Interview process includes two virtual rounds followed by an onsite visit.
- Urgency due to the need for faster internal development cycles and upcoming satellite builds.
- Current issues include yield throughput quality and capacity on the production floor.
- Concise communicator with high energy; able to engage effectively without rambling.
- Experience in startup or fast-paced environments like SpaceX or similar companies preferred.
5 - 10 years of experience in PCBA assembly/manufacturing including SMT line setup and production
Hands-on PCBA production experience (SMT reflow rework)
Direct people leadership over engineers or technicians
Insourced or stood up new production lines/equipment
BS in engineering (EE preferred any engineering accepted)
Can explain engineering rationale behind PCBA process decisions
Experience running process qualifications for new equipment
DFM feedback to design engineers on board manufacturability
Concise direct communicator with high energy no ramblers
Must work on-site 5 days/week in San Francisco
U.S. Citizen LPR Asylee or Refugee (ITAR)
Required Skills:
5 - 10 years of experience in PCBA assembly/manufacturing including SMT line setup and product
Required Education:
BS in engineering (EE preferred any engineering accepted
