Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the manufacturing engineering team to support production operations improve manufacturing processes increase efficiency reduce costs and ensure product quality. This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives implementing new technologies and supporting operational excellence throughout the organization.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead mentor and develop the manufacturing engineering team.
Oversee the design development and implementation of manufacturing processes procedures and systems.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety quality productivity and cost reduction.
Collaborate with production quality maintenance supply chain and leadership teams to optimize manufacturing operations.
Analyze production processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency throughput and product quality.
Manage capital improvement projects including equipment selection installation and startup.
Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions process flows and standard operating procedures.
Support new product introductions by developing efficient manufacturing methods and processes.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety quality and regulatory requirements.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for manufacturing issues.
Evaluate and implement automation and advanced manufacturing technologies where appropriate.
Prepare budgets and manage departmental resources effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes process improvement and production systems.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma Kaizen or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication problem-solving and leadership abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.
Preferred
Professional Engineering (PE) license or engineering certification.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Experience with automation robotics and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
